Scott Scapanski passed away Oct. 31, 2024, at the age of 48.
He was born Nov. 16, 1975, to Gerald and Carol (Juetten) Scapanski in St. Cloud. He graduated from Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. He worked on the family farm and other farms in the Foley area, including owning and operating his own dairy farm.
In 2009, Scott began working for Strunk Harvesting out of Kansas as a dedicated and loyal combine operator. He completed 16 harvests there before unexpectedly passing away while at work doing what he enjoyed.
He made many friends along the way, from Texas to Montana and North Dakota. Most important of them were Marty Burger and Wayne Herioux, who he lived and worked with for many years.
Scott will be missed for his quick wit and ease of making new friends. He had a passion for harvesting efficiency and would never quit until the last truck was filled — a true harvester.
Scott is survived by his brothers and sister, Jason (Sandy Giddens) of Ocoee, Florida, Nick of Foley, and Amy (Pat) Herbst of Foley. His nieces and nephews include Kaitlyn, Garrett, MacKenzie, Weston and Amelia Scapaksnki, Callie and Luke Herbst — with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Also like family to Scott were Kathy and Mike Strunk of Silver Lake, Kansas.
A celebration of life will be 2-6 p.m. Jan. 11, 2025, at Jack and Jim’s Event Center at 11205 Duelm Road NE in Foley.
