Phyllis M. (Stay) Wellman-Pollard

Phyllis Marie (Stay) Wellman-Pollard, age 94, was united with the Lord Jan. 29, 2025. 

Phyllis was born May 23, 1930 to Herbert and Pearl (Shirkey) Stay. She was the sixth of nine children. She grew up and attended school in the Glendorado area. She married Don Wellman in April 1949. They had five children: Jim (deceased); Kathy (Mike Woolard) of Santiago, Jeff (Char) of Princeton; John (Julie) of Avon; and Kim Pappenfus of Becker. They lived in Robbinsdale until moving to rural Princeton in 1959. Don passed away in December 1986. Phyllis moved to Becker and later married Ted Pollard Feb. 16, 2005. They moved to Foley. Ted passed away Nov. 21, 2014, and Phyllis spent the remainder of her life there.

Phyllis’s hobbies included needlepoint and quilting and spending time with her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children; 12 grandchildren, Shannon Wellman, Shawn (Caitie) Wellman, Jennifer Woolard, Jeremy Woolard, Tracy Wellman (deceased), Craig Wellman, Cory Wellman, Raena Wellman, Chad (Courtney) Wellman, Cassie Seehusen (Alex), Cody Pappenfus and Cadie Pappenfus; 19 great-grandchildren, Brody and Lauren Peterson, Kourtney Mortensen (Josh), Katelyn Mortensen (Caleb) and Jordan (Castine) Nieters, Damien and Maeson Franseen, Maddie Woolard, Anden and Alex Wellman, Alexis Wellman, Dillon Monroe, Cohen Peterson, Jax Wellman, River Seehusen, Cadley and Caillen Pappenfus, and Payton and Presley Jensen; and six great-great-grandchildren, Myah and Maverick Mortensen, Everleigh and Aurora Mortensen, and Murphy and Radley Nieters. She also leaves behind her sister, Bonnie Hoeft of Princeton; brother, Donnie Stay of Foley; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind ‘Barney,’ her beloved little fur baby.

She was so loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
